Does anyone else here play Wordle? You can find it on the New York Times puzzle app. You get six chances to guess a five letter word. With each guess, if a letter lights up yellow, you know the letter is in the word, but that you have it in the wrong place. If it lights up green, you have the letter in the right place. If you do play Wordle, do you have any special strategy?

I always try to have an "e" and an "a" in my first guess. E is the most used letter in the English alphabet, and A comes in second.

If I am stumped, I put in one or two of what I call "garbage" words. These are words which I know are incorrect, but I enter them to eliminate letters or to test the location of a letter. It may sound like I am wasting a guess, but it does make it easier once I know what letters are not in the word.
