Vampires: romantic, friendly, or scary?

Anyone else getting a little sick of vampires who do not act like vampires? Sure the occasional seduction is okay, but when that's the main plot it loses something. Ditto for tormented souls who hate what they are.


So what are your favorite vampire based books?

i like the void City series by J.F. Lewis. Most of the main characters either don't regret what they have become or quickly get over it.

As far as vampires who don't act like vampires to, I am trying to think of the name of the character and the name of a series to use as an example. It's a little girl vampire who lives in a castle, but is found by some guy who takes her home. It is actually a comedy. Sound familiar?
