So here comes season 2 of Overlord, and so everything falls apart. AInz, for some reason, starts a war with a group of reptilian creatures, and then get involved in a battle with an organization of drug dealers called Eight Fingers. Eventually all is explained so it makes sense, but by that time things get so confusing that I didn’t care. Ainz is not so heroic in season 2. There is no mention of his true self escaping the virtual world, and no attempt to explain why and how he got trapped and who trapped him.
There is plenty of well animated action, but the story could have been made clearer much sooner so that the viewer could tell what was going on. Thinking “what the hell” all the time got in the way of my enjoyment.
There are two more seasons to go of Overlord, but I probably won’t watch them.
