YouTube Video Links

A while back, I posted saying I could not see the YouTube videos others were posting. Then the problem seemed to fix itself. Well, now the problem has returned. I cannot see any posted YouTube videos, including my own.

If I click on Reply with Quote, then I can see the link's address, and then copy and paste it to see the video on YouTube. But that's such a bother.

What's the problem and how do I fix it?

Frankly, at this point is really hard to tell. YouTube has started implementing algorithms that block watching videos out of their own sites. These algorithms are not global and vary from throttling down video performance to outright blocking access to them outside YouTube itself. This is because embedded videos don't show ads and they don't want people to circumvent them. Whether your issue is related to you specifically because of a cache issue or is YouTube blocking you is impossible to distinguish. We didn't update our site and videos work for me (on Microsoft Edge), so they are not broken. It could be that you've seen too many videos without ads and they blocked you for a while.

What you can try is clearing your cache and cookies and see how that works. Maybe try a different browser first in case you have an adblocker or another plug-in messing with YT videos. If that doesn't do, then it is YouTube and you will have to wait for them to unblock your access. This usually varies from a couple hours to a day. If it turns out that it is YouTube's fault, you can still post the link. You might not be able to see it immediately, but it is there and it will show for everyone else.

YouTube I can get. When I can't see a video someone else has posted here, I can click on Reply with Quote and see the link. I can then copy it and get the video on the YouTube site. But that is such a bother.

I do clean my cache can cookies from time to time.
