At the end of the first season of TP Bon, Bon became a full-fledged agent of Time Patrol. Now he has his first mission and it strikes close to home. There is a serial killer on the loose in Bon’s town, and he must save the life of the latest victim. The victim turns out to be a schoolmate of Bon’s named Yumiko. In saving her life, Bon reveals that he is a Time Agent, and Yumiko insists that she wants to be a Time Agent as well. So now Bon has an apprentice.

Again, who is this series made for? Our two heroes are both junior high students, so you would think it would be targeting kids. But there is plenty of violence and bloodshed. Again, maybe Japan has different standards.

So Bon goes on missions with Yumiko and that yellow blob Buyoyon. In the last two episodes, Bon puts his life on the line to save his former mentor Rem, with the existence of the entire world hanging in the balance should he fail.

I wouldn’t rely on TP Bon for a history lesson, but there are some tense moments. Season 2 is certainly more suspenseful than season one, and a bit darker as well.
