That animators and artists are working under poor conditions for low pay.

As far as I know it's been that way for a long time. Unless an artist becomes the next Miyazaki, it's a financially rough line of work. But what I wonder is, is there really no other way?

There are more talented artists like Miyazaki, as good as he is. I personally think my work as an anime writer is superlative. I believe in myself.

You still see lots of anime coming out every season, though. So what gives? Maybe the quality of animation is going down hill to compensate? Also I've been noticing more and more Korean names in the credits for anime. China appears to be developing its own anime industry. Maybe it will just shift from Japan to China.

Japanese anime has strongly influence animators throughout the world -- including in the United States. American producers have long farmed out their work to Korean studios, but only in the last ten years have Koreans been adapting the Japanese style. I see Korean names even on Japanese productions. Even Vietnam and Thailand have been jumping on the anime bandwagon. It has certainly changed the way I define the word anime.
