Hi! this is Lenta Chorum (or Lenta, Len, whatever floats ya boat). Stumbled upon here by a recommendation from an old friend. I've been steady anime fan for a good 15 years, personal favs are:

Toradora
Black Butler
Cowboy Bebop
OHSHC
Serial Experiments Lain
Haibane Renmei
Evangelion
Madoka Magica

For manga specifically, Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu has piqued my interest and presently now braving the emotional hurricane that is the next chapter.

I'm also hopelessly besotted with 60s-90s artists (incl. prog, post-punk, new wave, synth-pop and black music general). Film's another passion which I'll curate a recc list someday, big into that arty stuff.

I saw the first season of Toradora and liked it. Netflix Streaming had it, but they did not have the follow-up seasons.

One season of Cowboy Bebop was not enough.

Lain is one of my all time favorites. There are so many nuances which you miss the first few times through. It requires 3-4 viewing minimum. If you like dark, complex anime which requires brainwork and multiple viewings, I recommend Boogiepop Phantom. Like Lain, it is a real mind-f*ck. (Pardon my language.)

Evangelion I hated. The main problem was I disliked every character.

Madoka Magica is not your little sister's magical girl anime. I like it dark. Did you see the third movie? The first two are just repeats of the series, but the third is an entirely new story. I posted a review on it somewhere in this forum.
