I started a thread like this way, way, back. I wanted to revive it, but I couldn't find it. So let's start a whole new one.

Who are your favorite stupid anime characters?

Mako from Kill la Kill
Issac and Miria from Baccano
Patti from Soul Eater
Ebisu from Dorohedoro
Mayuri from Steins; Gate

I'm short on time today, and will be gone for a few days. I'll discuss these characters when I get back.

In Kill la Kill, Mako is the sidekick of series heroine Ryuko. Nonetheless, hyper-moron Mako sets the pace of the series.

I forgot to add Space Dandy to my list. Granted there are few characters in this dumb, but fun series. Even villainy Dr. Gel is a moron. But the lead character Dandy is the dumbest of them all.

Issac and Miria from Baccano! are professional thieves with hearts of gold -- and brains of mush. Here in the epilog, they sorely need a visit from Captain Obvious:



Baccano! mostly takes place in the United States during the 1920's. It is a tale of gangsters and immortals. There are several storylines, and Isaac and Maria are supporting characters in most of them, which means they are the soul of the series.

Soul Eater has its share of stupid characters, but Patty sets the standard. She and her sister Liz were taken off the streets by Death the Kid, and given new lives as Kid's weapons. Liz and Patty are loyal to Kid, despite Liz being timid and Patty being. . . . Well, here she is at her dumbest:

Dumbest... Light Yagami. Honestly, how do you get caught with a magic killer notebook? he could have let them video tape him writing names and there was nothing they could have done to prove anything. he didn't even have to destroy the damn thing if caught. Removing the cover would have been sufficient.

^ Light was a criminal genius, who let his power get into his head. He became a megalomaniac, which would put him in the mentally ill thread. Though allowing himself to get into a situation where he should know he would eventually lose out is pretty stupid.

What this baseball game has to do with the main storyline is unimportant. The Dorohedoro universe is just perfect for a girl like Ebisu.

Steins; Gate's Mayuri is sort of an adult child. She is very simple, naïve, and innocent. She rarely enters a room without going, "Toot, toot,toot!" Mayuri is also quite a bit short in the mental area. Still she is so cute and lovable.
