I haven't heard of that one. So I looked it up on imdb.com. This is what it said:

The Color Purple was first written as a book by Alice Walker, which was turned into a film directed by Steven Spielberg. The book then was turned into a Broadway musical in 2005. This second film adaptation of The Color Purple is based on the musical adaptation.

Please God, NO! I can't think of anything worse -- except maybe for Joker 2 being made as a musical.

Actually, this will be good. A lot of prominent Black actors are in it. Watch the trailer.

And that was toned down from the book. They do that a lot. Friend green Tomatoes was a lesbian romance as a book and Emily Dickenson's love poems were all originally written to women and int he Count of Monte Cristo one of his enemy's daughters ran away with her female music teacher.

I think actors who are older but can still deliver good performances shouldn't be criticized. Look at the cast of The Golden Girls. They KILLED it!

I saw Oppenheimer earlier today. I saw the IMax version, because the film was shot specifically with IMax in mind. At least that's according to director Christopher Nolan, and he should know.

Actually, only the special effects shots seem to be made with IMax in mind. Unfortunately, the sound system to my attention away from the imagery.

Oppenheimer was shot on film, not digital. It does give the black and white sequences more of an interesting feel which you do not get with color. Although I am not sure why some scenes are in black and white, while most of the film is in color. I don't know what Nolan's artistic statement was saying.

Overall I did like the film, and I recommend it. Warning! Do not buy any drinks before the film starts. Including the trailers, you will be in the theater for almost 3 1/2 hours! And you do not want to miss anything just because you had to go potty.

The film does get into the overall morality, and the issues over use of the bomb. Seeing the film does not mean you are a fan of the man. It does give a very interesting introspection.

Oh, I'm not concerned about that. The bodies in the waters of Hiroshima and Nagasaki speak for themselves. It was a rotten thing to create. With that said, what happened at Pearl Harbor is still deplorable.
