    Default Good books?

I'm desperately trying to find things to get into, since - *leaves out rant I'm sure everyone's seen already* - And I just randomly thought... I do like to read. I used to live on fanfiction.net, and I would still but I just don't see much that really interests me anymore.

I used to like to read some books, but was very picky on what I would read. So...

I don't really have a genre in mind, but can people tell me some good books that they enjoy, that maybe I should check out?

When I was a kid I liked "The Giver" (And still love the themes of the book) and Number The Stars. ... actually thinking more about it they both seem like books I might still enjoy now... but maybe not as much as I think. (I mean because they were intended for younger readers.)

I did read Harry Potter, but I don't think I'd like to read anything like it now, and for sure no twilight type stuff.

Any ideas? Sorry for the veauge request. ^^.

Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.

I am not into fiction that much. I do like to read about history, the arts, and philosophy. I'm about to start reading The Federalist Papers, which gives insight into the minds of the men who wrote the Constitution. With all the controversies about what the Constitution says and doesn't say, I think it is time for me to give it a re-read.

Jackie Coogan, Charlie Chaplin, and Charles Reisner as the Bully.

Reisner was a former pro boxer who turned actor, writer, and director. He previously worked for Chaplin behind the camera on The Gold Rush. Reisner would later become known as a comedy director working with The Marx Brothers, Jack Benny, and Abbot and Costello, among others.

I used to love such books too, but now I love detective stories! I don't know if you'll like this, but if you want to immerse yourself in an interesting story for a couple of evenings, then there is a Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo

I haven't read it yet, but I am about to start The Periodic Table by Primo Levi. I've already read his books If This be a Man, and The Truce. I like reading history -- especially from those who were part of the story.

Don't go to any bookstore. The new releases are absurdly a) boring and b) unoriginal!

I love going through the shelves and seeing what they've got. And there's always used bookstores, libraries, and amazon.

Simon Green has been releasing some good stuff.

I don’t really know what to recommend because I mostly read the same really old books over and over again, plus I don't have the best grasp of what you want, but I can however recommend you my favorite books hehehe

My favorite books are Anne of Green Gables(probably not what you’re looking for), The Picture of Dorian Gray, Crime and Punishment(I think some people had to read it for school but I really love it), The Princess Bride(probably one of the silliest books I’ve ever read), and the Another light novel. There’s other books I like but most of them are for very small children so I won’t recommend them to you :>

Oh and I forgot to mention I also enjoy reading the DSM over and over again, but idk if you would like reading a catalog of mental disorders lol

Have you tried the unabridged Count of Monte Cristo?

    Or Journey to the West?
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.

Author of "Slasher School Days", "How to Be an Anime Character", and "The Complete Lesbian Storybook" available from Amazon.com

I just started a book titled Pandemic Politics. I recommend it. It shows why things went wrong with the US Covid response -- or non-response.

We need to learn from the mistakes of the past so that next time we are prepared.
