I was watching both versions of Pokemon Black & White and wondered if you knew of anime that had multiple versions of itself and which ones you liked better and why?
Examples:
Hellsing
Fullmetal alchemist
Dragonball

Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.

Berserk 1997 and Berserk Golden Age Arc movies
The movies definitely look better than the 1997 version and you do get to see Skull Knight, but the music and slightly greater story detail in the '97 version probably trumps it for me.
We don't speak of the 2016 and 17 adapations.
Not exactly an alternate version, but a sequel. The 2019 anime series Ultraman is darker and geared towards an older audience than the original live action kiddie series. I did a write-up on it: https://www.animeforum.com/showthrea...Ultraman-(2019)
Jackie Coogan, Charlie Chaplin, and Charles Reisner as the Bully.
Reisner was a former pro boxer who turned actor, writer, and director. He previously worked for Chaplin behind the camera on The Gold Rush. Reisner would later become known as a comedy director working with The Marx Brothers, Jack Benny, and Abbot and Costello, among others.
Ushio and Tora got a Reboot, but for example Ah My Goddess is very different from Oh My Goddess in some places.
