Okay so season 1 of th eInuyasha sequel is out, has 24 episodes, and season 2 is on the way. i'm watching Rin-ne, another takahashi recent release, while we wait for this sucker to get brought to America





Anyone else think Towa is a yuri character?

I get the feeling that this anime is nothing but a rehash of Inuyasha episodes. The original series was redundant enough after the mid-point. Do we really need a sequel?

I do personally have trouble "connecting" to the new series. Since I loved the old one, when I get into Inuyasha stuff I pretty much look forward those classic characters. But now, along with the new generation, it does feel weird or far away from my emotions. Maybe I am turning old? I am not sure, but it has not caught me as much as the old one did. It was nostalgic to visit the universe again, still!

I've dropped it. I feel there is no real plot to speak of. A lot of it's episodes are just rehashes of the OG series, bringing back villains that were already dead-only to kill them off again. So most of the series is not even original material. And what was original-made absolutely no sense whatsoever. They were disjointed and poorly written. The girls themselves, while they had good designs, lacked personality, and were OP and marysueish. The whole thing is like a very badly written fanfic.

The second season-I've a feeling is going to be more of the same BS, so I'm just going to stick to Takahashi's newest serialization Mao. Which is F-ing AMAZEBALLS.

Personally i was hoping they'd spend more time doing stuff in the modern world. I mean Inuysha was hundreds of years old (and stupidly kept thinking his mother was alive), there's no telling how old Sesshomaru is. A lot of people/demons/gods Inuyasha and kagome knew back then should still be alive.

Despite warnings to the contrary, I decided to give the show a chance. I watched episode 1, but that is not enough to make an evaluation.

There is one questions I have. How can a daughter of Innuyasha and Kagome be a half demon? If I remember my high school math and biology, shouldn't she be a quarter demon? Unless Kagome had something going on the side with Sesshomaru.

The show is based in the 1500s. Technically they shouldn't even be speaking the same Japanese as modern people.


Besides maybe it's like Yu Yu Hakusho and the Demon DNA is just stronger than the human half. Naraku was a half demon and he started out as a full human.

I suggest you go to japan, find a demon, have sex with it, and see what happens.

That is one thing they do do--they make a semi point that Moroha is a fourth youkai. She is referred to as a Shihanyou which translated out is 4 half youkai. Or--1/4 youkai in layman's terms.

^ Never mind that. Remember that demons, including half demons, age a lot slower than humans. Can you imagine Kagome and Inuyasha together 40 or 50 years from now?

She WAS 18 when she went back permanently. She got stuck in her era for three years, was able to go through and complete high school, and what's 3+15? 18!! So there you are.

I know it's been a bit of touchy subject online, but what do you guys think about the whole Sesshomaru x Rin having kids thing? Even if we put aside the fact that there's a... large age difference (I'm talking physically, rather than in real terms), I never got the impression from the original show that it was a romantic relationship. It always came across as peternal to me, or at the very least a sibling relationship.



I can just about look past it for the show because Setsuna is my favourite newbie and Sesshomaru is just my favorite character in general, but I do wonder if it'll bug me more if they put the relationship more to the forefront in the coming seasons.

You have to figure something would develop between the two when Rin grows up. She never really had the chance growing up to develop an attachment to the human world. I just want to see if maybe Sesshomaru mellows a bit. I recorded episode 2, but haven't watched it yet, so I am not that far along in the series.

I just didn't see it. A Rin X Kohaku relationship would've seemed more natural to me, or at the very least it would've been a less jarring age gap. They did have some, all be it limited interaction in the original, but they've over a decade of story they could've written there anyhow. It's hard to imagine Sesshomaru having children with anyone tbh lol
Anyway, it didn't bring down my view of the series too much. I generally enjoyed it and most of the new characters .

Honestly, I have always seen Sesshomaru quite unreachable. For anyone, really. He decided to go closer to someone for once and... boom, children. I would had liked to see a bit of development there to at least be able to understand it better, but if I am not wrong, there was not, right?

Yes, I agree. My main gripe is with the fact I didn't see a relationship, but having kids/getting married at 15 in a medieval setting is really not surprising, especially when there's precedent for it in the show already!
