I never was. I thought the characters were poorly developed.

I have grown up with this story, so I would say I am a fan. I am not up to date with it, yet, but I would recommend it. Even if characters do not have the best development, just as PictureGuy points out, I do really enjoy how the world is built, and especially how HUGE it is. If you are a fan of shounen stories, I would say you give it a try! It starts like any other story, but it becomes bigger and bigger with time. One of the best things, in my opinion, is that One Piece doesn't forget about what it has told in the past. So, something from ep100 can perfectly be used to build something in ep900. Just an example, but true story indeed.

I completely understand your point even if... I tried of point out the opposite! I would like that OP tried to balance a little development characters get, sadly. Saying this now because I wouldn't want my words to be misunderstood, at least. I am not up to date (yet), even if I am on the last arc in the anime, and... post time skip, there are a few things I would want to receive some love!

Yet again, the world itself is very well built. It is not surprising that we are almost on episode 1000 (I am not a OP manga reader, at least for now, I might start it someday, though), knowing that it is HUGE. Hopefully an arc or two are enough to prove my words wrong, and the characters who need the most attention get some of it.

I don't mind One Piece actually. It's iconic not only because of its duration (which is a testament to Oda's creativity and dedication) but also because of its world building and unique content.

But there are still elements that are overdone and predictable now which have been taking the fun out of this series.
- power of friendship / nakama
- shounen power boost
- most evil characters are evil for the sake of being evil. No convincing arguments most of the time about why they have to be so evil
- similar plot each arc: land in a place, find people being tormented by evil characters, back stories, fight evil, run for days, fight evil once again, make new friends, repeat

I'm not even reading this new arc entirely. Too long is too long. I've only read the last three chapters and the first 7 chapters of this arc and that's all I need really.

I have a serious problem with Colleen Clinkenbeard. I can never recognize her when she's not doing the Luffy voice. Monica Rial, Chris Patton, Kent Williams... usully after I see them in enough stuff I start to get an ear for voice actors, but even stuff I have sene before and checked I forget it's her. Then I get to the credits and i'm like , "CLINKENBEARD!!!"

This is one of my biggest problem in One Piece. I think that One Piece is better than Naruto in every aspect except this. In Naruto every villain has motivations where in One Piece, even the rare instance we get to see some villain backstories (Doflamingo, Kuro, Senor Pink, Buggy, Big Mom), they were already evil/psychopath to begin with.

This is one of my biggest problem in One Piece. I think that One Piece is better than Naruto in every aspect except this. Seriously they could have already plundered more treasure than Gold Roger by now. Screw his take. Get your own you lazy... I mean in that one with the Laugh Tale Pose they found was sitting in a huge pile of treasure and they just left it there.

That would be cool, as I posted before. It's like Pokémon in that Ash Ketchum might find that in the very last episode, he is a Pokémon Master through winning legendary gym battles and gaining experience, as opposed to winning the final Pokémon tournament. So, there's that.
