This deserves a mention for sports anime. Ping Pong the Animation. Take a look at this video clip.

^ The first thing I noticed is the characters are drawn to look like Asians. At first thought, I thought this might be a Chinese series. I just started a Chinese animated series, Heaven's Official Blessings. More about that one later. It certainly has a Japanese anime influence.

I do note there is one thing they seem to get wrong in this series. I have seen Chinese ping pong on TV, and they hit so hard they often play several feet away from the table!

I'll keep an eye open for this.

I have a new one to add. I just started Yowamushi Pedal, and have gotten through the first six episodes.

First year high school student Onoda wants to restart the anime and manga club at his school in an effort to make friends. But he gets roped into joining the bicycle race club, where he not only makes friends, but also learns there is something he is good at.
