Popeye Meets Sinbad the Sailor

This one is a classic. It's from back when Popeye cartoons were still under the creative genius of Max and Dave Fleischer.



They don't make them like this anymore.

Cool cartoon. I love the old animation. She is uncomplicated, but very sweet and kind. Modern cartoons are often very beautiful, but not so interesting.

The Fleischer brothers who were responsible for the early Popeye cartoons, and Betty Boop as well, were considered rivals to the Disney studios. Even Walt, while realizing his cartoons were superior in their technique, admitted he did not have nearly the quality of comic material you find in the Fleischers' work.
