Spoilers for the anime Gakkou Gurashi.

 

Gakkou Gurashi is an anime that starts by pretending to be a cutesy school-life anime. Then, at the end of the first episode, it drops the twist that they're living in the school because the school is barricaded against a zombie apocalypse outside it.

Up until that point, it drops a lot of hints that it's actually a zombie apocalypse anime, and this includes its opening song, Friend Shitai.

The title and first stanza take advantage of "shitai" meaning both "want to" and "corpse":

ふ・れ・ん・ど・し・た・い

シタイから！
シタイなら！
シタイとき！
シタイでしょ!?
いっしょに！
Can be interpreted innocently:

I Want a Friend

I want it!
If you want it!
It's time to want it!
Don't you want it?
All together now!
But it can also be interpreted:

Friend Corpse

It's a corpse!
If it's a corpse!
It's corpse time!
Isn't it a corpse?
All together now!
