    Cool Anime Supernova

Does your cable or satellite provider offer NHK? If so, you may be interested in a program that comes on twice each Friday night. It is called Anime Supernova, and each 15 minute episode features a young, up and coming animator from Japan.

Despite the title, this is not what we normally vision as anime. If you consider anime to be the manga influenced style, that is. If you define anime as any animation from Japan, then the title fits. Essentially, these are the next generation of animation artists who use various techniques and their own personal vision.

I have watched three episodes so far, and I find them interesting. I just have to start writing down the names of the animators.

Look for it and come back next week telling me what you think.

Jackie Coogan, Charlie Chaplin, and Charles Reisner as the Bully.

Reisner was a former pro boxer who turned actor, writer, and director. He previously worked for Chaplin behind the camera on The Gold Rush. Reisner would later become known as a comedy director working with The Marx Brothers, Jack Benny, and Abbot and Costello, among others.

From a recent, Anime Supernova special, this one is worth watching:
