Well, not everything is so easy to explain. Fireworks is among them. The Japanese title is Uchiage hanabi, shita kara miru ka? Yoko kara miru ka? I like Fireworks better.

This is a coming of age story, with a twist. Nazuna and Norimichi have a crush on each other, only Nazuna is going to be moving away with her mother and her momís boyfriend, future husband number 3. She gets an idea to run away with Norimichi, only things donít go as planned. But thereís this strange ball Nazuna found on the beach, which Norimichi discovers can change the past Ė so he does just that. Several times.

Itís a nice little love story, with a vague but happy ending. The animation is pretty good, and the English voice actors do an excellent job. Once of the co-directors is Akiyuki Shinbo, who also worked on Puella Magi Modoka Magica and March Comes in Like a Lion.

Fireworks is not going to be remembered as one of the great classics of anime. But it is still a nice little film, and an enjoyable one as well.
