I was thinking about phrases found in Japanese that we share in English, or at least ones that have become known.
This main one I'm thinking of really relates to a lyric I'm translating but since this isn't how the actual line goes, it didn't seem right to place it in the lyric discussion thread.
Is anyone aware of the saying in English that relates to rain and weddings?
It's something like "A knot tied in wet is harder to undo".
Personally I always felt that it was just something written to make the bride feel better about the fact that it rained on her wedding day.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone is aware of the phrase making its way into Japanese as well? Do they have something similar?
For that matter, feel free to list off any expressions that have made their way from English into Japanese or vice versa.
