Maes Hughes was my favorite FMA character, too.


In My Hero Academia, Tenya Iida is my favorite character.


I can't think of any others off hand.


This is one of those topics when, for example, in the case with FMA, I would say Hughes does qualify as a side character, but just barely. But then looking at shows like MHA - Deku and All Might, I'd say, are the 'Main' characters, but is EVERYONE else, side characters? Maybe you'd say Bakugo is a main too, but then what about Kirashima? Ect. Can you say ANYONE from Ouran (From the group at least) is a side character? Because, It's ABOUT (...I'm not gonna spell their names right...) The guy and the girl... but they all have stand alone stories and they are all together...So, where's the line?


Or do I just need to calm down and not think too much? XD

No, I agree. My husband argued that Wendy is a main character, not a "side" character, and I came to my conclusion arguing that there is only one (or MAYBE two) MAIN characters in every show, while every other character is a supporting character (hence my word choice). So I think Ed and Al are both main characters, along with Dipper and Mable. I find Deku to be the only MAIN character of MHA with All Might being an arguable main character also. One Punch Man is an example of a singular main, at least for the purposes of this thread.

Yes, I know they are the heart and soul of Baccano, holding the all the stories together. But that is because they are actually supporting characters in most of the stories being told. They are not the center of any of the plots.
