With episode 4 coming on tonight, I guess I am way late in posting this. But has anyone else been watching Miracle Workers?
Steve Buscemi is hilarious!

Steve Buscemi is hilarious!
Jackie Coogan, Charlie Chaplin, and Charles Reisner as the Bully.
Reisner was a former pro boxer who turned actor, writer, and director. He previously worked for Chaplin behind the camera on The Gold Rush. Reisner would later become known as a comedy director working with The Marx Brothers, Jack Benny, and Abbot and Costello, among others.
Just looks like another way to make fun of God to me. I'll pass.
I'll pass too.
And anyhoo, Daniel Radcliffe already played a "miracle worker" in the Harry Potter flicks.
My Wi-Fi, it's gone out . . .
Those were my thoughts exactly. Of course, they could always end up pulling the "it was all just a test!" card as a way to have the god character save face.
To me, it comes off as a further mockery of Christianity by people who lack the courage to mock Islam or any other religion. I wonder, if the creators of this show are mostly atheists as I would expect, would they consider something like this cultural appropriation?

I agree that God has a sense of humor, since God can destroy us all and put our mocking of Him to rest. It's appropriate, what, with it being Ash Wednesday. "From dust you came and to dust you will return." I dislike God jokes with a passion, and pray that the person(s) poking fun at holy things doesn't get struck by lightning as soon as the joke is over, in more ways than one...!

I don't think God is going to get upset over petty things like a TV show. At the same time, if I think someone I don't know well is mocking one of my loved ones, it bothers me. Do you really think that is a sign of insecurity? If so, I don't want to be a secure person who is just indifferent to everything.
Everyone is used to God, particularly the Christian one, being mocked and ridiculed that they've gotten used to it. In retrospect, there is something quite sad about that considering what now gets upheld as the new sacred cows.
Never knew a show like that even existed, but I doubt they even know what thaumaturgy is or how it works.
Well, the series does point out how limited and nearly useless a physical god would be. He would be limited just like everything else which has a body. I guess that's why I don't mind the series. That is not my God they are making fun of.
