Well, it looks like the vampires are back. But here come the Jaegers to save us. That’s Jaegers with the European J, which sounds like a Y. The team is led by Professor Willard, and includes sexy Dorothea, muscleman Fallon, and hot-headed kid Phillip. But let’s not forget the star of our show, Yuliy the Sirius (as in the dog star). Hence the title Sirius the Jaeger.

Sirius the Jaeger has a story-line which keeps the action rolling as it twists and turns. The fight against the vampires gives way to the search for the Ark of the Sirius, whatever that is. At least we know it is powerful, that the vampires want it, and that as the last of the Sirius, it is Yuliy’s duty to protect it.

Things get complicated when a Japanese military security agent finds out what is going on, and a cute rich girl named Ryoko falls in love with Yuliy. But let’s not forget the unexpected reunion with Yuliy’s brother Mikhail. Keep guessing along with the series.

Going along with a good story, we get some good action, fairly decent animation, and a pretty fast pace.

Interestingly, the vampires often turn into creatures which look just like the monsters from Blood+. Doing a quick search on imdb.com, I could not find a connection with any of the main productions staff. But director Masahiro Ando did work on Fullmetal Alchemist. So FMA fans may want to take a look.

The series is on Netflix Streaming for the moment. Catch it if you subscribe. Keep it on your must watch list, if you don’t. Thumbs up for Sirius the Jaeger.
