My Wi-Fi, it's gone out . . .
Yes. I am literate.

Yeah, though I don’t use standard b’s or r’s. I make them both look more like the print versions.
That said, whether in cursive or print my handwriting is ugly.

I use to, but it was always so messy. It never looked smooth like other peoples cursive writing. Others had trouble reading it. So now I just print. But, considering today's need for just about everything to be typed up (i.e. homework), is learning cursive writing being phased out? Is there a necessity for it anymore?
As a culture we are moving into the world of typing instead of using script. Makes sense to me, because I prefer to do so. It’s a pain writing longhand. I did it, writing a few books, but now I have to type up what I wrote!! So no cursive for me, unless I have to sign something official, like a check or other documents.

Exactly. The only time I really use script is when I have to sign something, but even then a signature is meant to be almost illegible. Unless, of course, if its a greeting card, I try to make it a little bit more readable... plus I like to put a star to dot the "i". :3
Oooh, THAT kind of script. Aw geez, it's been years, but yeah, I can still handle cursive, only i use allcaps on capital letters. I don't remember the Q's and the R's anymore.
I can write in cursive, but recently I've been trying to learn Russian cursive.
Here's a note written in Russian cursive. Supposedly it's a prescription. I can't read it well enough to say if that's true or not.
Anything to get away from that other thread . . .
My script is *wop-wop* not as good as I thought. I'm a published author, dang it. I should be perfect at it! lol

Yes. I went to primary school during a time that it was mandatory. I believe it was after fourth grade that you were required to write everything in cursive in your English or Composition classes. It seemed a little redundent, because after 6th grade all of your writing assighments were required to be typed. I didn't use cursive at all in college except to take notes, I was more focused on APA formating. Anyway, the only time I really use cursive these days is if I want to finish what I am writing quickly or I am signing my name.
