Default Kyou no hi wa sayounara (今日の日はさようなら)

    https://www.animelyrics.com/anime/eva/kyounohiwa.htm

    Romaji version:
    verse 1, line 3: wa → wo

    Kanji version: (same mistake)
    verse 1, line 3: は → を

Something's fishy, as this error appears in multiple western transliterations (https://www.megalyrics.net/neon-gene...hi-wa-sayonara, http://www.lyricsreg.com/lyrics/shir...i+Wa+Sayonara/, http://sakurasounopetnakanojo.wikia....i_wa_Sayounara, and http://www.animekaillou.com/neongene...asayounara.htm, all in the top Google results for western website). Only http://lyrics.snakeroot.ru/D/DEEN/de...sayounara.html seems to get it right.

In defense of those lyrics, the Evangelion version (https://youtube.com/watch?v=knFqOa_vYaI?t=28) does indeed sound a lot like a wa to a ear who's not paying a lot of attention. This confusion is not easily achieved in the other versions of this song (such as ryoko's 1967 recording: https://youtube.com/watch?v=YNQT68uHpyg)

I'd like to also request for it to be appended after
    "
Album / Collection: Evangelion 2.0: You can (not) advance OST
    Track # 26
    "

That this song is also part of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo OST in episodes 23 and 24 and included in the bonus CD 7 as track #2.

This correction to the lyrics can be further confirmed by looking at some japanese lyrics websites, such as http://www.kasi-time.com/item-20519.html.

It seems all thread content has gone missing after I edited the post to workaround the youtube embed hiding content

    I guess it's waiting for mod's approval?

The mods can see it just fine, it's just we can't. Please be patient.
[Notice: the preceding post was written by someone with a poor grasp of the Japanese language. If you could correct me when I make mistakes, it'd be much appreciated.]

I'm happy to add information on where the song originally comes from if you want to give it to me, but it would be very strange to state on the Evangelion page that a different cover of this frequently-covered 1960s pop song was used in a random unrelated anime that Evangelion fans may or may not know or care about. I can crosspost to the Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo page, though, if you give me the artist information for that.

I've made the fix to the Japanese and romaji lyrics.

Yeah, crossposting to the sakurasou topic would be way better, I hadn't realized the website can have songs on a per-anime basis, sorry!

Artist information for Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo:
    * Vocals: Kawasumi Ayako, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Horie Yui, Sakurai Takahiro, Takamori Natsumi, Ai Kayano, Rie Kugimiya

    Artist information relevant for both:
    * The original song is by Ryoko Moriyama, released in 1966.

Furthermore, as stated above: Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo OST in episodes 23 and 24 and included in the bonus CD 7 as track #2. (all info from the sakurasou wikia)

Thanks! The Eva version has been updated and it's been added to the Sakurasou page.
