    Smile Fate/Apocrypha, Season 2 (2018)

The war for the Greater Grail is coming to an end. And so we are set for season two of Fate/Apocrypha. If you missed my write-up on season one, check below.

Shirou, a priest, is supposed to be one of two Rulers in the game, making sure the rules are followed. But instead he has his own plans. Taking control of most of the Red Faction’s Heroes, Shirou plans to take the Greater Grail and bring about mankind’s salvation. Only Shirou makes salvation sound so ominous. Good reason for that!

Meanwhile, the Black Faction has other problems. Assassin of Black, aka Jack the Ripper, is out of control and must be stopped.

Alliances change. New lines are drawn. Ruler, aka Jeanne d’Arc, has fallen in love with Sieg. It all leads up to the one final battle to determine the fate of man – and it does get bloody. Heroes and mages begin to fall. It comes down to the most unlikely of all to oppose Shirou. Fate/Apocrypha finishes up with a very satisfying conclusion, but you must wait through the closing credits to see the real ending.

The animation is top notch, just like in season one. It does get slightly muddled with all those heroes and mages to keep track of, but the action makes up for it. At least the major story stays straight. Fate/Apocrypha is a great action anime, with a great story, and is a worthy addition to the Fate series.

    Fate/Apocrypha is on Netflix Streaming.
