My Wi-Fi, it's gone out . . .
That is sad to hear, but I'm amazed (and glad) that he lived as long as he did. Shows how strong his mind was. While I didn't agree with all of his views as scientist, I admired his courage for challenging the prevailing scientific views of the nature of reality. Many scientific advances owe a lot to Stephen Hawking.
It's quite fitting that he died on Albert Einstein's birthday. May he rest in peace.
Maybe they killed him to shut him up about Cern; i hear the guy was rampant about what the lhc could open and was asking scientists there to cease and dismiss.
Well, at least he no longer lives in fear that some executive could feed him to the greasels.
I remember Hawking not that long ago explaining that gravity created the universe, and not God. Of course, he did not explain where gravity came from. He also ignored the fact that gravity is part of the physical universe. As Einstein explained, gravity is caused by the displacement of space created by physical bodies (planets, suns, etc.).
So how could gravity create the universe if it could not exist before the creation of the universe? Even the great ones get it wrong sometimes.
