Lesbian Characters in Western Cartoons

As you may have noticed they can actually put lesbians in cartoons that don’t just appear in the evening. Now they can actually appear in any cartoon. Legend of Korra just came out with a comic specifically to erase any doubts. People aren’t as bigoted as they used to be and they are no longer “accepting” that sort of thing any more either. They’re ignoring it. Becoming apathetic. This is a good thing. Fifty years ago a black man and a white woman walking down the street holding hands risked not only social stigma, but actual torture and death. Possibly with no criminal charges pressed against the perpetrators. (Seriously, look up the writings of a woman named Ida B. Wells.) Then we learned that this was wrong and slowly hating people because of skin color.
Today that same couple can make out on the street or on television and nobody cares one way or another. At least nobody the majority of us cares about or listens to because they’re inbred skinhead Nazis. Huzzah! Equality. And now we move on to the next group who have been persecutes and forced to hide who they are because of ignorance, prejudice, and admittedly a small part of their group that really did some pretty nasty things. (Hey, I’m not going to pretend every member of a specific group is a saint or was driven to do bad things by circumstances. Some people are just assholes who ruin it for everyone. There’s a reason a lot of people won’t pick up hitchhikers or get into a strangers van no matter how clean cut they look and why we all have locks on our doors, even inside the house.)

So in this spirit of understanding, tolerance, and not caring about a social stigma that only offends people who are secretly so uncertain about their own sexuality that they strike out at others to hide their own latent homosexuality, which characters in western cartoons, comics, and animated movies (Not anime, there are Yuri threads for them and frankly they’re way more okay with that than Americans) that are considered suitable for children and teenagers do you know are lesbians or think should be? Understanding that love and even kisses between two girls are not the same as porn.
Put an X next to the one’s that are confirmed as official relationships.

Characters that actually have names in the show only, no unnamed background characters that may or may not fit certain stereotypes (The Kim Possible fans know what I mean). I’ll give you some of the easy ones to get things rolling and get them out of the way quickly.

Also feel free to question the thinking behind any unconfirmed characters and feel free to ask why the person posting them thinks they might be a couple, unless it’s kind of obvious to you. If someone calls you on one of these be prepared to back it up.
