    Default help with SMILE

Happy New Year everyone. This is my first post for 2016!

Full lyrics and youtube links: http://lenslyrics.ml/smile.html I'm having lots of trouble with this one. If anyone can offer any guidance I'd be very grateful.

    Q1. The first verse is:
    誰かに伝えなきゃと
    必死になっていた
    足並み揃えるのに
    遅れないようにと
    I take it to mean
    so I/ve translated it
    I had gotten so desperate
that I had to tell someone
    not to get behind
even if I keep in step.
but I'm uncertain whether he/she's saying that they want to avoid getting behind or whether they're advising others not to.

    Q2. The third verse is:
    空虚な毎日にも
    月は浮かぶから
    ありったけの星で
    夜空を飾ろうよ
飾ろう is in volitional so does it mean the personified moon is using the stars to adorn the night sky (seems to make more sense), or is the speaker somehow decorating it (fits grammar better but doesn't make sense to me)?

    My translation so far is
Even in my empty everyday life
    the moon floats above.
With its full complement of stars
it thus adorns the night sky.
If anyone cares to look at the rest of it and suggest any corrections/improvements, please be my guest.

The fact that it's 2016 still feels kind of unreal to me... x.x

Personally, I don't think there's an "I/me" in this verse, but rather a general "we". This is more or less my take on it:

Even in an empty everyday life
    the moon floats above,
so let us decorate the night sky
with as many stars as possible.

    >誰かに伝えなきゃと
    必死になっていた
    足並み揃えるのに
    遅れないようにと

Hmm... I think I'd translate the first two lines as, "I became desperate about having to tell it to someone." Or, "I became desperate, feeling I have to tell it to someone." The way you have it, it's basically the other way around; like desperation lead to him having to tell "it" to someone.

I'm not sure about that second part, as I could think of another interpretation, but it's not necessarily the case so I wouldn't want to mislead you.

    >君に会いたいな 夢でなら
    あなたに 会えるかな?
I want to see you. Even in a dream,
could I get to see you?

    I think it's simply "In a dream,...".

    Hope that helps!
