Undertale is an RPG where, essentially, you don't have to fight anything if you really want to. It was created by Toby Fox, a guy who might sound familiar to Homestuck and Earthbound fans.
It's a really great game. You can get it for $9.99 on Steam.

This thread is for people who want to talk about the game, their experiences, or any other fun stuff about it.

This game tho. I haven't actually played it, but I've seen parts of playthroughs and I just have to say: This game is so deep on so many levels.

I'd play it, but no cash and I don't have a PC. I technically have a Steam, but I forgot the password. Oops

Finally got a chance to play through it and just finished a pacifist run and did the full ending. Really fun and interesting game. I could see why people would say it panders to SJWs, but it's really easy to overlook.

I have a friend that plays this, though I never really realized how complex it supposedly is, according to all these comments. o.o; A genocide mode? Pacifist mode? SJW stuff to make fun of? Why don't I own this yet?

I'll probably pick it up eventually, especially if it manages to go on sale anytime soon. Seeing how I just made a snazzy new Steam and all. Sounds cool.

m8, I'm the least SJW person in existence, so keep that in mind when I say the following:

Undertale is pretty great. It's innocent and fun, the gameplay is innovative in the sense that it's an RPG where you don't have to level up, and the battles are a mix of bullet hell shooters, rhythm games and platformers.

There is indeed a massive tumbltard following for the game, but trust me, don't let it ruin it for you. The game itself does not preach about political correctness or anything, and I have no idea why people think it has SJW content.
The game isn't very long (about 10 hours) but it has at least 6 different endings, and for only 10 bucks it's well worth the money.

Also, it's nothing like Earthbound. The graphics are kind of similar, but that's where the comparison ends.

@Kumagawa Pretty sure the SJWs took to it because of the gender neutral pronouns, main character with no discernable gender, and presence of possible homosexual relationships between certain characters. There are probably some more small things, but those were the obvious ones that stood out to me. But like I said in my earlier post, easy to overlook.

I think it's safe to say

I'm pretty much sucked into this whole Undertale hype now.

The story is unique and inspired, the characters are amazingly easy to get attached to, and the whole thing is just a fun experience. It really does make you feel and think about your actions and the consequences that come from them. I've finished a Neutral Pacifist and True Pacifist run, and I honestly don't know if I could handle finishing a Genocide run. The only reason I'd do it is to experience the boss battles that are exclusive to the route... then I'd reset and do another True Pacifist because I'd feel genuinely guilty.

Spaghetti/10 would recommend.

SJW stuff, what the heck? Well anyway, now about 2 hours played, and so far it seems great, very interesting indeed, and funny. Gameplay is pretty ok, not boring. I think it will become even deeper and more meaningful when I get forward. That encounter with Toriel when you go your own way already had some feel to it. I can definitely see why there's so much hype around it.

The game itself looks fun though I ain't really into those rpg games like undertale anymore; but unless we're talkin complete horror in an rpg then I'm all for it. The only negative thing I see about it is the fandom... oh man, the fandom makes me wish I didn't have eyes.

Unfortunately, a friend completely turned me off to this game before I could try it. It's all he talked about every time we went out for a month straight and just made me not want to play it ^^' maybe one day, but not any time soon sadly.

You can find Frisk x Toriel, Chara x Asriel, Toriel x EVERYONE, etc. In the worst of the cases, you can find Sans and Papyrus doing naughty things with their fluorescent dirty thing.

Ah that's really a shame. I got into it because a friend of mine kept mentioning it now and then (we're both indie RPG fans), but she never spoiled anything or went on and on about it. I can imagine though, if your friend talked about it constantly that he must have spoiled quite a lot... That really sucks.

@Feravel You forgot to mention that Googling literally any female character from the game will yield some pretty eye-scarring stuff right off the bat. The fandom is like FNaF 2.0 and it's really annoying. It really turns off a lot of decent people from the game, which is a shame because it really is a unique and interesting experience.

The game doesnt pander to SJWs in the slightest. Unlike Gone Home and Stephen Universe, Undertale is untainted by them.
