Do anyone here play MMORPG?

While I was browsing around the forum, I found this section dedicated to MMO's, so I started wondering if there's anyone here is actually still playing any?

I did play some MMORPG(s) before, but it all stopped ever since the dawn of Minecraft, the 3 lane highway games & FPS online games, & I believe that it was not just me; I believe there was actually a major decline in the interest for MMORPG(s).

but what do you think guys?

i Played WoW for about an hour...no... it was roughly 23 minutes. The closest thing to an MMORPG now is destiny. Although that will probably change once elder scrolls online launches. Destiny is a sorta-kinda MMO. ESO is supposed to be more traditional (or so they say). But i would really like to see a true MMO for consoles. I personally don't understand why it hasn't been done properly.

It's cool to see that someone actually sticks to a game since most of us usually make transitions to newer games & most of don't find much time for MMORPG, but anyway, I'm glad to know that its not totally dead

I'll be sure to keep my eyes on ESO as well

I used to play heaps of free to play MMO'S in the past. I played Final Fantasy 14 for a while up until a month ago. Now I'm just waiting for ESO's release for console.

ESO is crap though; I have friends that beta-tested the PC version.

Destiny isn't much better. Not much to do on it, sadly.

Well, they're still working on ESO so I think they will be fixing a lot of the problems which are in the PC version, am I right?

I don't know how it really works, but judging the expected release date of the console version, it seems like there's a lot of work going on it.

Apparently they've fixed a lot of stuff that annoyed people previously. I plan to at least trail it for a month. If I don't like it, I just wont play it anymore.

Destiny attempted the MMO route. It failed. It's still a single server based FPS. Half finished game just pouring out DLC to make up for it.

I am not really familiar with the titles you got there, I guess I would have to check them out, do you actually play those?

Most of those are old. LOL I played Guild Wars for the longest time when I was younger. I have played countless different Free to Play MMOS. I guess now you have people who would rather waste time playing League of Legends than a character building game. I have played Dozens of games, but I just don't have the freedom to play those type of games. I wanted to play Final Fantasy 14 but I don't like games with monthly subscriptions.

That is exactly what I'm talking about, there are more & more people who switch games & the interest in MMORPG is in constant decline. I myself have stopped all my MMORPG activity years ago.

Well if every big corporations moved to the Free to play method and only used micro transactions they would make more money. But they don't

Yes I do, I'm currently more on Neverwinter which is from like 2012 or 2013

Phantasy Star Online 2 is relatively new and is constantly being updated. It's in JP, but all you have to do is use a translator during sign up and then just download the English patches.

I was pretty dedicated to Maplestory before. I put a lot of time into that game, but being located in Europe, the game got more and more unplayable. The game never handled the updates well and worked 1/5 time. Hoping the second one wont be as bad, and that I can play on American servers or something ;1

I've also experienced that issue before; a game not being available at another country or region, or a certain server being exclusive to a certain region, it really messes up your game especially if you travel a lot like in my case.

FPS games these days are just rehashed and boring. So sticking to games where I can do many different things is fun. Plus meeting new people to to party up with is always good!

The good thing about how I play. Is I play HC TDM all the time. That is the only thing I like, and Although somtimes I am like WTF how did I go 0/30 this entire match. I think I have finally made a class that suits my play style.

I also figured out the same thing, in pub games where you don't choose who you play with, certain modes or configurations in certain games get you better chances for winning or better K/D ratio.

There has been some games where I measure my improvements by my death not kills since I barely got kills, but that's just till I get the hang of it

I have been slowly figuring out the nuances of the Exo Suit and how to work it to my play style.

that would be really annoying. i've played a few F2P MMO's and in my experience they are sh*t compared to paid games. if you don't shell out a dollar here and a dollar there, you're basically only experiencing a fraction of the game. then you PvP people that are ub3r l33t pr0 (i.e. they waste all their money on it) and you don't stand a chance unless you pay. i'd rather pay a flat sum up front and never worry about money again than sit there deciding if a sword is worth two dollars.

I have picked up Final Fantasy XIV again due to many people hassling me to get back on, saying I will like it again due to the updates. I've bought a months subscription to tide me over till the games I want are released in March. If I like it I'll just resub, if not I shall drop for good till ESO.
