Hi there! Good to join these forums are the first forums I've joined related to Japanese and anime and whatnot. :3

Been learning Japanese since April by myself (at a what feels to be an honestly lazy rate :P) and I'm at the point where I understand the grammar well enough so that I'm able to translate most common grammar-based stuff from Japanese into English now with the help of Rikaichan, or at least at a level where I can understand it. Mostly I've just been listening to sub-less anime, watching an anime subbed then sub-less, or translating and memorizing songs as well as playing Pokemon in Japanese cause kana-yay.

Watched/watching anime that I enjoy:
Initial D
Toradora
MLP (Japanese dub subless)
Akame ga kill
Baby Steps
Death Note
K-On
+ more my brain doesn't want to remember at the moment.

Favorite Japanese music:
Airman ga taosenai (Can't beat airman)
Scarlet Rose (Lily)
Connect (from Madoka Magica)

A few questions:
1. Is it possible to submit translations for song without passing the Japanese test? I can get around the kanji using Rikaichan and that's theoretically the only thing holding me back from passing it as Rikaichan can't read an image.
2. I keep on getting this ad advertising a game, going to a completely different url and it even swapped me to that different website when I was trying to sign up for the forum, making it kinda annoying. Is there a way to stop that ad?

About the ad redirects, I remember seeing a thread about that issue. I guess you can try installing ad-block on your browser, if it helps. I personally never get ads here for some reason, with or without ad-block, so I dunno.

Welcome! And well, I don't think so. You can submit it, though I doubt it's ever going to end up being on the site. You're better off studying your Kanji until you can reach that level.
And as for the whole ads thingy.. If you're using Google Chrome, you've probably installed an extension that keeps sending you these ads. That was the case for me. Anyway, good luck!

It's not really nice to openly suggest to install an ad-block though as AF does rely on the ad revenue for paying bills and server costs. I know lots of people do it though but ... yeah. =/

Honestly it's one of my favorite animes, though like any entertainment media it's down to personal tastes, but I would highly suggest it.

Ah fair enough, I guess I'll just translate for personal use as currently I'm solely focusing on listening at the moment as I get get most places with just Hiragana and Katakana.
