The time limits in the games cause it's my most top hated part in games
I hate how easy it is to get addicted to them, I once planned on thirty minutes, I spent three hours. Plus, I get upset easily when I die 30+ times!
Good points have been made already (I especially support the criticism of DLC and hypersexual elements in games), but I'm going to go with mistranslations/misspellings in games. Seeing an entire phrase hijacked by a strange word that is obviously not meant to be in the game tends to make the experience a bit less real and meaningful and often adds comedic effect where it's not supposed to be present.
I hate repetition in gaming from companies. ! game was great and they create sequels upon sequels just copying what they had adding nothing of value.
Also hate in FPS games escort missions, ow they're awful lol.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
As someone who's been in the online gaming community for over 9 years, the thing that really urks me are the people who just have to put all the other players down because they can't get immense amounts of in game income, or don't have the best gear, or are just slow at leveling just to name a few. This is extremely true in League of Legends, and it disgusts me. I once had a match where I had to mute everyone in the game except my Duo partner just because he was having a rough time and I was sticking up. We ended up carrying because we were on Skype and no one else could interfere. World of Warcraft it if you want to join a good guild, you need good gear, but to get good gear you have to be in a good guild. My favourite part of people treating me like crap in games it to stay cheery. Just laugh it off and they get so mad they themselves start screwing up.
Console exclusive games (Will probably never play Halo because of it, sadly)
Bad voice actors. They can really distract me from the game and unable to take some moments seriously :P
Fanboys, people who want me to buy a PS4 (never going to buy one for a long time), anime style games, and so many gripes it's not even funny.

Aren't these two contradicting? At least from the way you're expressing it. LolBooster.

2. Close-minded gamers.
3. Bad community. (includes everything that can make it bad)
4. Capcom-level DLC.
5. Nintendo still living in the 80s.
6. EA
7. People who "hate" games/genres but can't give a legitimate reason.

Most of the time it's the players I hate. Most of them try to act so cool lol,, they're really just jerks. Not to mention all the hackers and modders who ruin the game within the first month. Other than that it'd be the fact that the developers can't keep the game secure from them.
"Kill a man, one is a murderer. Kill a million, a conqueror. Kill them all, a god."

Aside from hackers and whatnot, I can't stand unrealistic damage. If I shoot an arrow through your head and it sticks out of the other side, you shoukd be dead. Not swinging a giant battleaxe at me.
The community gets annoying. "Aw you friggin n00b campin az bic, sittin in a friggin corner with a sniper 1v1 me br0" So then you humor them and kick their prepubescent asses using only a handgun, only to have them rage about how you're hacking or aimbotting.
DDoS'ers/Lagswitchers. Not so much a problem anymore, but tourney play was nearly impossible on Metal Gear Online because of this.
SWATing. Refers back to the community, but someone's gonna get killed one day.
Games are too short now. They pump in so much side content and exrras and sidequests that it takes maybe a day to beat the game.
And I hate escort/stalking missions. Escort missions suck when the person doesn't help out ar all and is too stupid to take cover. Or like in MGS3 when you have to carry what-her-name around injured. Sure she can walk, but it's a hell of a lot easier to knock her out and just drag her. And I hate stalking missions because the person usually turns around for absolutely no reason at all and you fail ( here's looking at you, Assassin's Creed series)

My mood on a daily basis
Most of the people who play them, who happen to be idiots.

I hate "Water levels" in games! They're fricking annoying.... In Zelda Ocarina of Time the Water Temple or in Super Mario Bros the Underwater Level! aaaahrg!!! I hate them!
some gaming communities can be really, really terrible. like, i used to play a lot of f2p fps's for PC, and the INSANE elitism that went on in them was disturbing. they were basically pay-to-win games, and the people who did pay would talk down to free players constantly, call them poor... those games just bring out the worst in humanity.

There continues to be lame games like Call of Duty and Halo and yet there is none of the following:
No Shenmue 3
No Last Blade 3
No Mark of the Wolves 2
No sequel to the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure capcom fighter

I hate "free-to-play" games with tons of microtransactions that are essential to make reasonable progress (Clash of Clans, and all its clones)
Online games:
- Elitists
- Ragequitters
- "OMG UR BETTER THAN ME UR A HACKER IMMA REPORT UUU"
- PvP spectators telling their friends what your stats are, then telling them exactly what to do to win.
- Kill stealers
- Campers that sit at spawn and kill you over and over
- Admins that kick you for being better than they are
- Backseat mods/admins
- Hardcore griefers
- The fact that they cost money and I'm broke.
Single player:
- The fact that they cost money and I'm broke.
Too true...in Ocarina of Time you have to be careful where you step in the Fire Temple, but it doesn't compare to the frustration of having to put on and remove the iron shoes over and over again in the Water Temple. The Water Temple is also the longest of the temples, if memory serves. All that tedium, and yet the game is still wonderful.
I also hate games that make you replay the same levels over and over to make progress. "Well, we're all out of content, but we need you to keep repeating stuff until the next DLC pack comes out!"
The things that people share of what they hate about gaming is why I stick to retro gaming these days.

i hate when a game series moves away from its roots and becomes something cheap, something made to be merchandised (Call of Duty, The Elder Scrolls etc).
most people know about my problems with the CoD franchise, but i loved the Modern Warfare series. then Black Ops came out and people everywhere collectively jizzed, while i sat back and wondered why a ps2 game was on my ps3. now Activision takes any game they develop and slice it up into pieces, selling 4 expansions AT THE RELEASE of the game. it's all about a payday to them. i'll never play a CoD game again. Destiny's good, even though i know all the soon-to-be-released DLC was already in the game and Activision cut it out.
The Elder Scrolls, i just miss seeing and manipulating my stats. each game got more and more dumbed down, moving further away from the table-top RPG setup to a more mainstream style. not necessarily a bad thing, but like @Nowi once mentioned to me, running around the world for hours following vague directions to find a location was part of the appeal.
Cheating doesn't bother me at all...
What grinds my gears is dlc, like the Sims 4. I really love The Sims and all, but the direction they've been going is terrible. The whole selling half a game for 60 bucks and charging to buy add ons, EPs, Sp's, that should have been there in the first place is bogus. I understand gaming companies have to make money, but trust me they make bank on game sells alone. Back in the day they never had all that dlc, pay to play crap, why have it now.

You know who else is just as bad as Activision? EA, nuff said.
ahoy, i missed this post and i must say i agree. back before i had a job and i needed a fix for online gaming, i played a lot of f2p games. basically a free to play online pvp game should be called a pay to win game. this is most aggravatingly true in first person shooters. the best (most unfairly overpowered) guns were made exclusive to "members", or people that paid subscriptions to play shitty games, just to have an unfair advantage over people who didn't have the money or didn't care to pay. i never paid a subscription to any of those games, and i always found it amusing when i easily stomped paying players with shitty guns, and they would go into grievous rants about how i was poor, or hacking, or lagging, or, if they were the hosts (oh yeah paying members also got "elite host" status, so they could kick any player out of the game for no reason) they'd kick me. this happened on countless occasions, i'd get a 10 kill streak and BOOP kicked.
i can say the following sentence with utter surety: People that pay subscriptions to free first person shooters are the shittiest people humanity has to offer.
