my thoughts exactly. at least i have a choice of brawler on @Zainox 's team or weapons expert on @Albear 's. leaning towards joining Albear cause he put me in the right spot . use .22 caliber semi-auto's, the rounds tend to enter the skull cavity but not have enough energy to cause an exit wound, which means they expend their excess energy bouncing around the skull cavity and turning brains into swiss cheese. .22's are also very compact and lightweight, meaning you can carry a lot more than if you were to use .223 rifles. on top of that, .22 ammunition is ridiculously cheap and accessible in most parts of the world, so it'll be a lot easier to replenish than .223. the rifles themselves are so common you can get them at walmart.

as far as close quarters goes, you'll want a weapon that can quickly pierce the brain without much effort, and doesn't require extensive knowledge to use. a long-handle ice pick would suffice, but if you can find a war hammer with a spike on the rear of the head, that would be ideal because the added weight would aid in quickly puncturing the brain. whatever you do, don't go Walking Dead and pick up a samurai sword. they don't rely on brute force to slice through targets like most hand weapons. it requires a certain technique that, if you haven't been trained, you don't know.

the classic anti-zomber gun, the shotgun, is in reality pretty useless against a horde of zombers because most common models only carry a maximum of 5 rounds, and they're quite slow to reload. if the horde is loosely packed, you won't get much collateral and once your gun is dry, you're stuck reloading shell by shell while disgusting undead freaks try to eat you.

according to some folklore, zombers don't understand how to climb steps (but can crawl up them slowly), so if you need a defensible position, an apartment building with at least three floors would be ideal. the stairs would bottleneck the horde, eliminating the threat of their huge numbers, and if you start killing them on the first floor, you have three or more flights to slowly retreat up (while continuing to pick them off), and of by some stroke of terrible luck they're still coming after all that time, you can escape to either the roof or the street via the fire escape.

if you can get your hands on nightvision or infrared goggles, you won't have to worry at all. stay holed up during the day, move at night. zombies have poor senses, as all their faculties are rotted and decomposing, so they're useless in the dark and you could basically walk among them with nightvision/infrared.

your classic zombie is stupid and slow, so they're naturally easy to outmaneuver. always evade and avoid when you can, save your ammunition for when you absolutely need it.

as you can see, i've thought in some depth about surviving a zombie apocalypse.

You're thinking way too small sir. We need to acquire a Semi Truck with a tanker on back, loaded to the top with fuel. Some F-150 Eco Boosts because they are extremely versatile and will not burn through our fuel reserves too quickly. At the same time, we need part of the team (which will include me) to stop by a Cabelas or Bass Pro Shop and raid all of the firearms and ammo we can. Then we regroup somewhere that stays decently warm in the winter without getting to hot during the summer and does not experience extreme weather disasters such as tornados and Hurricanes. Central Texas would be good. After we get organized, we arm up and start raiding food supplies from nearby towns. And then, we build.

or, option 2. He take over a transatlantic cruise ship.

Actually I was thinking of forming a self sufficient encampment to avoid having to rely upon raiding for supplies, true we could do that to begin with to ensure we gain enough surplus supplies to last us if the crops go bad. As for fuel if we get some solar panels we won't have to rely so much on petrol to generate electricity.

Well under my leadership that shouldn't be a problem, so long as we ration our supplies and remain unified as a group then there shouldn't be any problems, only question is what skills will everyone bring to the table? Like cooking etc. Need to know these things so that we can work out rotas
