Suggestion: Welcome new members directly to their profile page.

im not sure if this is the place where i can start a suggestion thread, since ive been browsing through the site and i have found no section to post suggestions.

to the forum mods just please move my thread if this isnt the right place.Please just notify me as well. Thanks.

Well, what im gonna be suggesting says the title already. it is to welcome the new members directly to their page not only on the introduction thread where they created their threads that introduces them but also to go directly to their page and welcome them. Well itll make(US) new members to feel really welcome to the site, and it is also a good way to start conversations with the other members and gain friends. what do you think ? o.O

Considering the amount of new members this site gets it isn't really feasible. Especially when you consider the fact the forum only shows you the last new member to sign up. So at most you'd get one or two hellos and that'd be it.

Really though..
1. I'm not interested in knowing every single member of the site and starting conversations with them.
2. It's up to the person welcoming the new member what THEY want to do. If they want to leave them a message on their profile, cool. If they only want to post in their thread, just as cool.
3. But really... No one has time for that if someone does, more power to them.. I know plenty of members that take welcoming new members seriously.. But most of us are not like that.. Refer to GG's post... We get a few new members per hour, I'm unsure of the rate, but it's a lot.

The idea itself isn't bad, but I really can't see it going over very well. Feeling welcome to a forum should be a priority yes, but I really can't say many forums do what you came up with. Its a friendly idea, but since 99% of members will not be online 24/7.. this also means the idea may end up useless.

NOT every users of the site are required to do it, if you dont have time for it then dont.

Of course welcoming new members woulnt be in an instant. But at least when the next moment you log into the site there would be some notis to open.

Say for example you joined the site then you created a thread of your introduction,and you noticed there were OL users but no one gives time for replying to your thread but only views. Then when you log out, then log in to the next day and still got no response from the users of the site, isnt it a lil bit . uhgg. its like nobody cares that you joined the site, its like you are not counted as one of the members of the site.

it doesnt matter how many OL users are there. as long as there are few who welcome you.
