There is a huge range of MMORPGs to stink your teeth into but for some, your system requirements needs to be able to handle it. I would recommend Tera, Eden Eternal or Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Tera
Graphically speaking its beautiful, the visuals and design are awe-inspiring. Combat is very nice as you don't stand and spam, its point and click open combat, if anything play Tera for the combat aspects. It has a story to which the player can get involved along with some nice cutscenes.
Eden Eternal
Anime inspired graphics with cute designs. Eden Eternal has a unique feature that many MMOs don't have, being able to change your class whenever you want. You can start off as a Warrior and change to Mage later on or Cleric. Combat is reasonably good, its basically stand and spam with a twist. It may be considered an oldie perhaps but it has experienced a great deal of regular updates.
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Based on the Old Republic era, set 3000 years before the clone wars. The Old Republic is a very nice game to play for one main aspect, you are the hero or villian. The story revolves around you, every character has a voice, so to speak, and every quests involves an interactive cutscene, you basically make a few choices on what to say. The main goal of that is that you outcome of words or actions can change your experience when playing the game. Though graphics seemed underdone for a game that's been in the makes for a few good years. Combat is stand and spam, at times it can be rather fun.
If you are wondering, they are all free to play with a item shop. If you need anymore suggestions, give me a message and I can give you a ton more.
Eden Eternal was good, I was playing that for abit.
Here are a few I have played that were decent~
Ragnorok 2 Online ~
Perfect World International ~ Old now, but good!
DayZ ~ Does this count?
Legend of Edda ~ Very chibbi, haven't played to much but I'm told it's a very laid back style of MMO.
Also, it is COMMING out, so it's not out yet. Lucent Heart. The game used to be run by Beanfun but closed down, it is being brought to life again by SubaGames sometime this year! I used to play this all the time, has been one of my favourite free to play MMO's to date! Might be one worth looking out for. ;3
MY ANIME-PLANET WATCH LIST
AF FAMILY
Astral_Mage - Younger Brother/Confetti Brother
horrendous - Older Brother
1nterest1ng - Confetti Brother
Neverwinter, just went live last week. Though to be honest, they released it to soon, not all the classes are done. But it is free to play, and free to download, so you lose nothing for trying it.
Main thing I love with it, is the player generated content. Some of the dungeons and outdoor adventures people have made for the game thru the Foundry, is really well done and fun to play.

Neverwinter is crap. Tried it, and it's just simply not fun. The only good aspect of it is player made maps. Terra is fun and doesn't take long to level. I got to 60 in little over a week without spending money. Though I did manage to buy a 50% week long xp boost with gold. Take what you will of that.
Aika Online, "Grind Heavy Massive Pvp Nation wars. Uhh if i am correct an event is going on so you start at level 71 Automatically. Level cap 85.
Only Yin Can Be This Cute(:
Try Queen's Blade it's really fun
