I hate ecchi
I have never been a fan of it. I must say that I think that sometimes it is really unnecessary and takes a lot of value out of the pots of certain anime. I can tolerate it sometimes though depending on how good the actual anime is and the development of the characters.
Ecchi..
Me gusta. >:3
Someone earlier stated the ecchi in A Certain Scientific Railgun makes the show hard to take seriously or something like that. Okay, whoever said that must of not seen animes with real hardcore ecchi. Flipping up a skirt and not showing anything isn't even that bad o_O.

If I really like a character, I don't care if they get involved in ecchi or awkward moments, but ”violated” against their will makes me mad.
I will have to slightly agree with this. Just adding stuff like this can change peoples opinion in an anime, especially if they are against ecchi. I personally don't get bothered by it, but when they go hardcore on it or shove it in your face is when it starts to annoy me.
Something that may have a serious story starts to gives a different feeling when they start to add skirt flipping and the like.

In my opinion, if someone is that hardcore against perverted moments in anime then watching anime may not be for you. Upon growing up, small moments like skirt flipping and/or cleavage shots don't even come off as bad. Most animes have a small amount of perversion to them so getting irritated at small things like that makes me wonder why some people watch anime these days.

There is always other anime that they may like. Alot of 'mainstream' anime (not shonen jump) these days seem to have some sort of ecchi involved but it's not unavoidable. If they are really that against it, there are always other anime avenues.
But to be fair, A Certain Scientific Railgun isn't a 100% serious anime any. It's mean to be badass and fun. It defenitly wouldn't be the same anime without the weird relationship between Mikoto and Kuroko.

I don't mind ecchi, but it does bother me how I have to be careful who I watch it around.
Also, in some cases, I like ecchi for its intended effect. >.>
Then they should take that other route and try to find the animes without them. I'm against hardcore ecchi, but am no way against ecchi in small doses as I choose to watch animes with them. People who complain about ecchi in certain animes or get weirded out over the smallest things bug me because they choose to watch ones that will have the ecchi. Most animes have ecchi or at least fanservice, so watching anime may not be for certain people if you cannot handle cleavage shots or short perverted moments. You know I'm no pervert, but ecchi in certain cases doesn't come as bad. Unless its extreme ecchi which I can understand.

I do like ecchi. Of course I haven't seen Queens Blade or Eiken (I think that's what it's called) but I've watched and enjoyed Hen Zemi and Fight Ippatsu Juuden-Chan so it's fair to say I've seen some hardcore ecchi. Also Haganai and To Love Ru are both great, in fact Haganai is among my top favourite anime even with it's distinct depravity.
Honestly, I don't see what the problem is. They're not much different from stuff like American Pie and all those other Hollywood gross-out comedies which similarly have loads of shameless sexualisation and plenty of laughs. It's not like Japan is the only country that produces stuff like this, it's just their form is animated. The most important thing to know is that these shows aren't to be taken seriously. They are designed specifically to titilate (no pun intended) and entertain and nothing more. And considering you can smell an ecchi series from a mile away it's not like this kind of stuff just pops out from nowhere and slaps a big pair of bouncy breasts in your face. If you don't like it avoid it and if you do like it then by all means enjoy it. Ecchi is pretty much harmless and it's a niche genre among the anime community anyway. I think some people try and blow it out of proportion saying that it's everywhere but it's really only a small selection of anime.
Yes, I like Ecchi. Highschool of The Dead is a prime example of what you're talking about. :3
Two words: Jessica Rabbit. She's (in her original form as the hot redhead from Droopy Dog cartoons) the basis for pretty much all the really hot anime characters.
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.

I honestly don't mind it if I like the anime in general.
