Some good anime to watch?

I haven't watched anime in about 1, maybe 2 years excluding Naruto Shippuden, so I wanna know if there's anything good I can watch that's come out recently. Thank you.

Well, I'm not really interested in long-running anime such as Bleach, One Piece or Naruto. I mostly prefer anime that has about 13 -26 episodes per season. I haven't watched anything in a long time, but can remember shows such as Highschool DxD, Infinite Stratos, Sword Art Online, Ben-To, Full Metal Alchemist, No Game No Life, Code Geass, Angel Beats and Rosario x Vampire among others. There's also one where a guy finds a red haired girl who makes him his link or something and when they 'synchronise' she becomes stronger and in the world there's 3 people who look the exact same, and if you ever encounter each other, two of you die.

Mostly action anime, but I'm not really interested in robots, like, Transformers type of robots. I also really do not care if it's hentai/ecchi, but I don't really want anything to... "extreme", I'll say. I'm open to trying anything. Not too interested in vampires/werewolf stuff, but chuck them out anyway.

Those sound interesting as well and will give everything a shot when I have time.
I mostly watch via streaming sites, but when I watch on my Xbox One (I rarely use it now) I have used Crunchyroll using the free trial, not forking out membership just yet as there's not much point since I can just watch them free online as well. Does it make any difference?

Does not make much of a difference. You can still use crunchyroll on a computer the only difference is that you get ads online. And the quality.

Is the quality better or worse? I'd assume better.

For a paid subscription to Crunchyroll comes with better quality and seamless ad-free watching. I think that is good for $6 a month. There are a lot of shows on there also which makes it even that much more worthwhile.

Another show that you could start is Black Bullet. The show has seamed to surpass the manga, and after the serialization got an anime the artist just seemed to call it quits on the manga cause there has not been a new chapter in over 4 months.

I highly recommend Fairy Tail. It's a bit of a long running series, but it is totally worth it
