i'm not really a fan of naruto but i like it more, than one piece, fairy tail and bleach.. i don't think it's a bad anime.. at least in naruto a lot of characters died, i only remembered one character in one piece died, none in bleach and fairy tail..

Hater gonna hate U_U
I'm not in a mood to debate now...
For me naruto is one of the best anime (without fanboism),judge anime just bcz it's a mainstream just stupid,1 and 2nd seasons despite their length was and will be awesome, plot still remain great.. manga is in top 10 selling manga in Japan ( i guess) that is what makes Naruto amazing .. thats it
This is the best post I've read in this thread so far.
What you said about the characters claiming (and failing) to be ninjas - I never even thought of it that way. I thought about it for a while and decided that it doesn't bother me, though. But you make a good point nonetheless. "Battlemages" or simply "Mercenaries" probably would've been a better way to title themselves. (Although there are a few characters titled "sage".)
That's it? I don't know if the info you stated would declare it "amazing". I'll give you the first two seasons, as they are made better than the entire series, but two seasons can't bring up a 200+ episode anime. Plot is okay, not great and being in the top ten sales for manga in Japan doesn't really say much. Its fine if you're not in the mood to debate.. but since you posted on a forum I'm allowed to quote you and give my opinion on your post.
Nonon Jakuzure - Best Kill la Kill baePretty damn great! #spoke2soonOta "The Cutest Otaku" 2016 - Lol, how's your account doing lately? Oh wait.
It doesn't end.
I have not followed the Naruto anime series and never will. Main reason is because I read the manga. And why is that a reason? I know I'm in no place to criticize something I'm not familiar with, but every time I see the Naruto anime series on TV, I get so disappointed. Naruto is a wonderful piece, without a doubt. People who don't read it from the beginning to the end don't know how good it is. It's not just a stupid ninja story without a plot. It does have a plot (many people say Bleach doesn't have a specific plot, making it like a show full of fights). The anime loses to the manga in many ways. First, the biggest thing, the drawing. Masashi-sensei's drawings were superb and they were did with a lot of hard work, but the drawing from the anime series isn't really worth a praise. Second, the fights and some scenes are very long-winded. Meaning is that one simple fight can delay for as long as two or more episodes. Some unnecessary delays are really, well, unnecessary.

Life may be hard, it's a big pain in the butt. But hey, who says behind all those pain, can't hide some happiness ?
The anime is very inconsistent yes, but some fights in the anime was extremely well done (to my amateurish eye lol). For example, the Lee vs Gaara fight in the Chuunin exams is seriously one of the best things i've seen! Its jaw-dropping! xD So it certainly has its moments : )

Naruto has become too predictable and long-drawn-out. You only had to read Tobi= Obito or Naruto constantly getting some sort of a "boost" only to read he has acquired yet another "boost" couple weeks later. Naruto is going down hill, rapidly. In my honest opinion; Masashi Kishimoto is just pulling things from his backside.
One Piece for me has and still is always new or fresh and the fights are lengthy with attention to detail. I still reminisce about the old episodes. (Luffy was a lame. haha.)
naruto is ok i still watch it just because it got me into anime back when it premiered on toonami
1. It's full of cliches (like dead parents and crap like that)
2. Characters are over powered
3. "BELIEVE IT"
4. Storyline is played out and is stretched too long
This is just my opinion.
I pretty much agree with Higurashi Kagome.
They're supposed to be ninjas, which they were at least somewhat at first. Now it's just a bunch of over-powered idiots running around destroying everything with a single hit. My cousin still really likes Naruto and follows it faithfully, so he tells me all sorts of stuff that happens in it and new attacks and abilities that he sees. Honestly, at this point, I'm just not impressed by them anymore. Okay, so Pain destroyed the leaf village, big whoop. Someone stronger will be along soon.
I'll admit. I do still like the early episodes. I watched it until about when Lee and Gaara fought Kimimaro before I got bored. Then I just completely lost interest. I do still absolutely love Kurenai, no matter how small of a character she is, probably mostly because she was the first anime character to really catch my attention, but generally I don't watch it anymore. I will watch the first bit of it (I actually own the 2nd uncut boxed set.) as well as the part later on, even if it is a filler, with Kurenai and Yakumo just because I think you see Kurenai more in those few episodes than in the rest of the series, but that's about it. My cousin keeps making me watch episodes from Shipuuden and, when we were at the library earlier, kept showing me parts from the most recent manga that they had. I feign interest and shock when he shows me some "amazing" thing that happened.
You can like it all you want. That's your opinion. This is mine.
She has no shadows, and she radiates beauty.
Slender body, and two eyes like ebony.
Her spirit's golden, and her mind's a mystery.
While I can appreciate your dislike for Naruto, it has a dedicated sub-forum under the Feudal category and thus this discussion does not belong here.
