I don't know why there isn't a thread about this yet. I don't watch many award shows but the Oscars is one I like. I trust the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Generally speaking all of their nominations and selections have been very deserving of the award they received (unlike some award shows)

Anyhow to recap who won what:

I can also honestly say I'm starting to really like Jennifer Lawrence. A few of her interviews have poped up on my tumblr feed occasionally. She comes off as really down to earth unlike most hollywood stars.

Yeah because only 4/24 categories has something to do with celebrities/actors. The others have something to do with FILMS.. I don't know about you but I wouldn't think Brave, Life of PI, Argo, Les Miserables can stand up on stage and go "OMG! I GOT A PIECE OF METAL!!!" I mean if they could... Please let me know because that'd be awesome...

I'm a huge Anne Hathaway fan, so yay for her! Although I gotta say the Oscars don't really interest me, but I was keen to see the results cos I work with movies. Made sure 'Argo' was merchandised everywhere and it's selling like hot-cakes. Thanks Oscars!

Brave was near terrible, and IMO didn't deserve the award this year. Though its Pixar so I'm not shocked they gave it the win. Even if its an eh movie.

I have to agree with this. Me and my ex co-workers were just sor of "EH" About it. I mean it has a good theme, careful what you wish for and things. But I honestly thought Wreck-It-Ralph or Rise of the Guardians should've gotten it. Rise of the Guardians has STELLAR animation. Brave left me unimpressed by disney/pixar standards.

I was rooting for wreck-it-ralph, but knew deep down knew Brave would win it since Brave won numerous awards leading up to the Oscars. IMO Brave is bettet than cars, but worse than wall-e.

How do you still win the argument..? The awards isn't about THEM though, it's about the MOVIE. You make it out like it's about the celebrities when it's not. The people playing in those movies still don't get to take the award from the movie home/claim it as their own. Actually most Oscars go on display anyhow. I used to work in a location that had 3 of them on display. Until they took them away to be in the movie Saving Mr. Banks.. Hun, you also don't want me to neg you. You'd go in red with no hopes of seeing green again. :/

I like Brave's story, but then Rise of the Guardians has better animation than Brave. Should've won the award at least.
