    Default FLCL (Fooly Cooly)

This anime follows a 12-year-old boy named Naota, who lives in a fictional Japanese city called Mabase with his widowed father and grandfather. Then Haruko Haruhara appears and runs him over with her scooter. She gives him CPR, but then hits him with her blue electric bass guitar! The blow to Naota's head created a "N.O." portal from which giant robots created by a company called Medical Mechanica come forth. It's soon revealed that Haruko is an alien investigator for the Galactic Space Police Brotherhood.

Sounds like a fun anime to me.

Adult Swim pulls it out every now and then for a run or two. Maybe about every other year.

But a sequel is in the works, which makes me shudder. FLCL is a once in a lifetime event. It cannot be duplicated. It is pure dumb, but fun. You may need to watch about a half dozen times before you can follow the plot, but the plot is the least important aspect of this series.

Naota was number 2 on my list of Top 10 Kid Characters in Anime. I posted it here -- someplace.

It was a good coming of age story with a different twist. I really enjoyed it. I mean it is only like 6 episodes long so i tis worth the watch or the manga is only 2 volumes worth of a read. Pretty good in its own.

I didn't really like FLCL. It was just....too much honestly. I hated the characters, I hated the story, and the only real thing I kinda liked about it were the fights/battles. Just not my thing I guess.
Im a sucker for the classics.....
Don't hate until you try them......

The first 2 episodes broke my brain for 10 minutes after each one.
Anime is a lot like sex. Done right it's a beautiful act of creation that brings a little more light into the world. If it's sick and wrong... it's even better.
