Castlevania made into an Anime series

I wonder if there could be an anime series of Castlevania. Perhaps it could take place during the Portrait of Ruin or Dawn of Sorrow era or even about the main heroes traveling through times into various eras. I expect new characters in either of them; including (POR) Harold MacGrugor, a scottish soldier who got lost in the castle; and Kenji Takahara (DOS) a japanese pilot who crashed into the castle before ejecting and is a good shot.
