Trust me, i'm the last one to ever take the side of Obama. But in this case, it seems you read it a bit wrong.
Stewart was looking at the event and how the whole thing played out after their deaths. Obama simply said that he wasn't concerned with that, he says that the real problem lies with four Americans having died. In other words, he's trying to show compassion.
Not a trait i am very fond of.

What's the problem here. Stewy (Jon Stewart) was the one who used the term 'optimal' in his question so what's the issue with Obama incorporating it directly in his response?
