So that it makes a little more sense, I'll tell you that this one was inspired by a picture of two Kayan women with neck rings, one older and one a bit younger, smiling happily, and the older one was laying on the younger one's shoulder.

Years ago, when I was young
She would help to ease the pain
When the copper around my neck was spun
She would hold me tight and say

"Don't cry, my darling child
You will make it through this
The pain will soon seem mild
And I'll stay by you, I promise

Even if you should change your mind
You will be beautiful always
Even if you choose to unwind
I'll still love you in a million ways"

Since then, my spiral has grown
She's given more love than any other
A beautiful angel of my own
She's my loving mother
