I woke up to this news this morning. It's sad and horrible. You go to the movies for entertainment then you get shot at? Why in the name of people do some people just want to end the lives and fun for everyone else? I mean people went to the movie to see Batman and now either they are dead or going to be screwed up in the head for a while as they cope with what they just experienced. I don't know what I would've done in this situation. It pains me to think about what it would've been like if I was there, I don't want to think about it and I hope those who were quickly leave it behind them.

I had plans seeing the movie later at 7, and my mom told me about the massacre this morning. I almost backed out seeing the movie, and right after that I had a text from my girl friends that "they can't make it either". It's no problem, it's weird how things happen.

Honestly the parents that brought a BABY to the movie theater showed their lack in judgement and parenting skills. Not only should the baby be at home at a MIDNIGHT showing but the noise alone is more than a baby should be exposed to at an early age.

Because Batman and comic book heroes are only for adults? That's really close-minded to say. I think the better question is "Who would bring a baby to watch a midnight movie?" bringing the 6 year old kid was passable but the baby....the BABY? That was dumb.

Midnight showing... Kids should be sleeping at that time.

That's really unbelievable indeed, bringing a baby to watch a midnight movie! (if the parents or whoever took that baby wanted to see the movie so much they should've let him with a nanny or with somebody else and if they couldn't afford it/had no one to stay with their baby should've just stayed home).

Thinking right about it, we quite ofently do a lot some dumb things knowing that we shouldn't do so and trust luck that everything will go fine.
Unfortunately, that dumb thing costed a baby's life that can't ever be returned, which is most regrettable.

Looking at just the MO and time isn't enough to tell me if something is related. I'm honestly not sure what it would take to prove it to me short of a confession. Aurora police and FBI officials told Denver NBC affiliate 9News Friday morning that the suspect in the early Friday morning movie theater mass shooting has "booby-trapped" his apartment with a sophisticated set up of flammable devices that could take authorities days to disarm.

He booby trapped his APPARTMENT they evacuated the rest of it.. Can you imagine sharing the same building as this guy? One false move and your entire living space goes bye bye...

Wow, the movie must be as awesome as I expected, then. Knowing this event happened will definetly add more taste to watching it. However, I read it's been canceled in Champs-Elysees, which is exactly where we're going this Sunday, dammit.

Also, I sympathize with the neuroscientist and his predecessors (Harris and Klebold, etc.); their actions are not comprehensible at first, but if you put the rage randomness aside, you'll find out it's probably something you'd be doing.

No he broke an emergency exit door from the outside and came in. (or possibly propped it open/tinkered with it beforehand) But he didn't come through the entrance, but rather an emergency exit thus not knowing about him.

I think he messed with it beforehand since there was a report of an explosive planted but they couldn't tell if it was thrown in or done before the shooting. Since his apartment is booby trapped I assumed he probably planted it beforehand and messed with the door. Although if you open it an alarm should sound so idk how that quite works. But he had a plan.. A very elaborate plan.... So you just can never tell.

I've had the live stream running all day, and here's the sequence of events as I've pieced it together from eyewitness interviews:

1 person says someone is lingering by the exit as the film starts
The film starts
A short amount of time passes
The door opens. Some people said it was kicked open.
A man enters the theater
He throws 2 gas grenades into the crowd. One person said it was two people throwing grenades.
He then starts shooting indiscriminately into the audience

The police say his car is parked at the back.

It's a bit inconsistent, but it's still reasonably clear.
