The story has ended
The pages are closed
What a wonderful feeling
Of life decomposed
No tears now need shedding
Though sadness is here
Say goodbye to a friend
From these pages’ veneer

Savor this moment
Savor the end
The finish of one book
Before starting again
The pages have passed
The hero has left
the epilogue’s written
and now we’re bereft

No story is told
Until its complete
No war has been won
Till we’ve tasted defeat
So let all books end
This bittersweet taste
Is the essence of life
So let it not go to waste

Don’t weep at the end
Of the story I write
If the hero now dies
it will all be alright
No tragedy coming
Can measure up to blow
Of a tale with no ending
And a life with no woe
