I'm a woman so I wouldn't receive this letter anyways but if, for whatever reason, I was given orders that ensure my death I would refuse. Not only would I be too much of a coward to perform such an act but I don't have the heart to put my family members and close friends through my own death--my suicide. I'd rather be murdered.

Yeah. Suicide in order to avoid defeat or dishonor is fairly deeply ingrained in Japanese military culture, dating back to Samurai Bushido philosophy, in which seppuku (ritual suicide) was a way to regain the honor lost through defeat.

I do know that the Japanese were brainwashed to commit the honour suicide though. So if we were born in that era, we probably wouldn't have the luxury to say no.

Not really, depends if I strictly believed what I was taught in the Japanese Military, and also, like @DerGerman said, when your under cocaine and all that stuff, half the time you'll say "uuuh.. YES!" to anything silly/life-threatening/out of the normal xD
and for Q.2 Well, don't know I mean
1. If I get caught by them chances are they keep me captive or kill me...
or
2. If I pull grenade americans can just run away, if the grenade is dumb and explodes seconds later, giving them chance to run..
or
3. Grenades don't work.. so I just attempted something dumb, and I'm going to die... lol
