Adolf Hitler shampoo - turkish commercial

In the commercial Adolf Hitler says:

"If you're not wearing women's clothes, then you also shouldn't be using women's shampoo.
Here it is, a real men's shampoo, Biomen". Real mean use Biomen".


People says that you in time people can joke about pretty much everything, but even if this is a PR-trick (that obviously works)
it stills give me a bad feeling in the stomach. What do you think about it? Feeling like washing your hair?

I think that has to have some heavy restrictions. Joking about the guy who pushed you around and took your lunch money last week? Sure, that's fine to joke around.
But joking about a man who did horrendous things to other human beings? I don't think any amount of time could pass and it ever be 'okay' to joke about Adolf Hitler. Even if you or your family weren't directly affected by his action it doesn't make it 'okay' to joke about something as terrible as that.

For anyone who found this funny and will likely think "lighten up, people, it's just a commercial!", try putting yourself in the shoes of someone who had a father, mother, grandfather or grandmother die by the hands of this evil man. I'm sure it wouldn't be so funny then.

Another question... do you know if the commercial was ever aired on television?

It was apparently, because the article states that they haven't "pulled the ad" and many groups are angry with the company, so it must have aired for them to see it.

I agree with Aelwynsal, the commercial is tasteless, and what Hitler did is NOT a joke.

What surprises me about this whole thing is that that the commercial company got this commercial approves by the shampoo company.
Alright that they thought that this would give them a lot of attention, the question is.... why did they want this kind of attention?

Did they really want people to get upset and angry at them?

I think this is very good. Hitler is dead, and giving him special treatment is giving him power dead people should not have. Making a mockery of him through shampoo commercials is an excellent way of stripping him of this sort of power.

Taking a very powerful and scary person and reducing them to a shampoo commercial is a textbook case of mockery. The people who do not find it funny are those that still fear Hitler.

Negative publicity wouldn't necessarily be good, it'd likely only make the people who are angry about the commercial not want to buy the shampoo. I wouldn't be surprised if the company's sales drastically dropped after that.

I doubt that many people today still finds him scary and thus fear him (not the young people today anyways). I belive most people just finds the commercial "low", because of the things that he did while he was alive.

Well it's not like he can come out of the grave and tap dance for us. But all joking aside it made no sense to me and I see how people would get upset about it.

It seems kind of odd...it's not even funny. If it where funny, then maybe there would be more justification is using Hitler.
I don't really have a problem with it though, I think people get overly sensitive about anything regarding WW2 (and with good reasons).
