These are signatures I did last year, I hope you like them and welcome any input.
I like the idea you have for the elfen lied sig and the last one, that execution, to me, is what the others lack, flow. I think you got the lighting down, and the focal is good, just give it flow and it will be good.
The first, fourth, and fifth signatures really catch my eye. Great job on them; they look awesome. (:
But I'd like to point out some repeating patterns I see in all of your signatures (please take no offense, I'm just trying to tell you so maybe you could improve someday):Some tips to help you improve in the near future would be:
- You're using brushed backgrounds
- There aren't that many other effects other than text, a render, and the background
- You're using default fonts
- Some of your lighting techniques hide an overly-large amount of your signature
Anyways, I hope that helped. (: Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see more signatures designed by you.
- Look up signature tutorials
- Try different signature shapes (vertical, trimmed edges, etc.)
- Make avatars to test your matching skills
- Use vectors and C4Ds
- Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone
- Use stocks instead of brushed backgrounds (as good as your brushed backgrounds are, stocks make a huge difference)
- Use textures, text, other images, etc. to keep your stock interesting
- Download new fonts and watch tutorials on typography to make your text look outstanding
- Keep in mind the main elements of a signature; detail, flow, lighting, texture, depth, focal/focus point, text, and whatever else may seem important to you
- Add something that's creative and represents your signature-making style, but don't get too repetitive
