Do you smoke?

Do I wish I never smoked? Yes, lol. Can I quit? Probably. Do I want to? Nope.

Just curious on how many anime goers smoke. To be honest, I've met quite a bit. I realize that to the non-smokers it's a disguisting habit; and to all who have not smoked, I say keep to it! It costs WAY too much, and the health effects are quite large and abundant. However; I quit for almost a year and started up again like it was the next day after quiting. My life has adapted to it so well, and hanging out with the smoking community doesn't help any. If anything serious happens in the future health wise it'll probably give me the jump I need to quit; but until then, I'm afraid I'm stuck.

So, do you smoke? Thoughts on it?

What I think of cigarettes? Well I don't like the smell of them at all so I can get a little irritated at people who are smoking just infront of an opening instead of walking little to the side or when people smoke in an outdoor resturant but.... that is pretty much about it. The people who do smoke is okey, standing with them while they are smoking is okey, I just don't want to get the smoke on me.

Technically, I don't smoke. I will imbibe from a Hookah once in a while, but usually when the hubby and I are around family and it's warm enough to sit outside with it.

As for what I think about cigarettes... For many people it is an active choice to start smoking, especially with what we know about the addictive qualities of nicotine. It's their body, so it is their choice. Of course, some smokers out there probably only started because they grew up having parents/close family who smoked, and just kinda migrated towards it. I know personally that being around Second Hand smoke long enough made me wanna start smoking (but I have an addictive personality... ) My only real problem is when people smoke around children and those not physically/mentally capable to ask them not to do it around them. And then there are those who throw their still lit butts from the car window while driving down the road. I already make a point of stomping on the ones that I find on the ground that are still smoldering.

@SuXyrs Yes Ma'am! Firmly agree! Even though I smoke, I do find it annoying when people smoke near public outings. Such as bus shelters, entrances to public places, and around children at such locations. On behalf of smokers everywhere, I appologize for their rudeness, lol. It's common courtesy to take in respect of other people before lighting up.

@marvel_phoenix Alas, I'm guilty of cigarette butts out the window.... but I always make sure it's a rainy day first. Too many forest fires in BC as it is; as most of them are caused by just this.

The worst should be over any moment now. Takes a few days for the immediate cravings to go away. From then on, it gets easier every day that passes. But it takes months for the last faint cravings to go away.

I smoke quite a bit. Objectively speaking it's a repulsive habit by all measures, but I'm to the point where I find thinking with any sort of clarity impossible without it.

I tried smoking with some friends when I was 13. But then moved to something that is like smoking *w33d*

But I quit both. I'm now having a good life:3 I also find smoking really hard to believe when people say they want to quit. But don't<3

I find the smell of cigarettes less than pleasing. I don't mind others smoke as long as they don't smoke near me. Unfortunately, many smokers are often not considerate enough to stay a distance away, and those are the people whom I'd often find myself cussing at

Yes, I used to smoke about 6 months ago. However, I realized how stupid choice it is and decided to stop. It took me a few times, and I even avoided hanging out with smokers for a bit to help. But I'm much better now.

So those who are trying to quit, don't give up!~ n_n

I do not smoke nor drink... I have health problems that would instantly go downhill if I did... Not to mention, since my mom smokes I already think second hand smoke has affected me...

I don't see the enjoyment of inhaling smoke... It's the same as being in a house fire and inhaling that... No different...

I dislike drugs of any kind, including cigarettes. My baba used to smoke, and I stand by what we used to say - that every smoke is another nail in the coffin.

Also, it smells terrible.

I mean, to each their own and all that, keep it away from me, and smoke in your privacy and I won't complain, but it does smell terrible. Even second hand smoke sends me into horrible, painful coughing fits - I've never been able to understand how people can inhale that directly, lol.

Nah, I don't smoke cigarettes or weed. Living around second-hand smoke and seeing the affects of it on my loved ones has made me completely despise it. I hate how the smell stays on you, even if you're only around it for an hour or so. I deal with that every time I visit my mum, older sister, and brother. I have to wash my hair and clothes immediately when I get back or I feel sick. I'm the only one in my family who has never smoked a cig or joint, yet I'm the delinquent in the family; lol irony.

I try to convince my brother and sister to stop smoking (especially my sister, since she has three kids), but they don't seem interested in quitting. They know better than to ask me to go out and buy them a pack though, cuz I'll just come back with some suckers instead. Trololol.

Yeah, I have no intention to start smoking. It has never held my interest, and if anything, it disgusts me to no end. I'm around it way too much.

My mother died from congestive heart failure when I was 15, and part of that if not all was caused my smoking. However, seeing as I was around it my whole life, entire family smokes, I ended up koining them. First time I smoke was the night my mother died. Six years smoking strong come Feb, 7 2012. Matter a fact im smoking while typing this.

Its really sad to tell the truth and I ahould be afriad to do it but ignorance is bliss

I smoke but I'm far from addicted. I only smoke when I feel like it, which means from twice a week to twice a month. I also don't smoke in front of people unless they also smoke because even if they say they are okay with it, sometimes they lie.

Nope, I don't smoke and I don't plan on to either. In my family, only two people really do smoke but they unfortunately died of lung cancer and that's really it.
I have bad asthma and even smelling smoke makes me cough like crazy. I go out to a friend's place, their parents smoke but they know not to smoke whenever I'm around. Supposably, second-hand smoke is worse than smoking itself. :/ Mhmm. I'm darn proud to not smoke.

I have never smoked and do not ever planned on doing so. But I have family history with smoking. Biggest success stories of ones who recovered were my uncle, who not only went cold turkey on smoking but also drinking, to this day still recovering (can't remember how long.) And also my 93 year old grandpa, who simply forgot smoking and drinking after he got Alzheimer's (who would have thought Alzheimer's was good?)
