What comes to your mind when you hear the word "normal"? Does this word define you? If not, had you wished to be one?

What comes to your mind when you hear the word "normal"? Does this word define you? If not, had you wished to be one?
'normal' simply does not exist
When I heard the word normal I think about a person who is kind of 'beige'.
To say: someone who doesn't stand out / someone who is part of the crowd.
Living in house, married, educated, normal job, some kids, having a cat or a dog, owning a volvo exc exc ~

I choose not to be normal a long time ago. It might not make me popular but I can stand the "day in day out" same thing over and over again.
I need variety for life to be interesting. I find "normal" to be quite dull.

Normal is so bland and boring, imagine how monotone and lifeless society would be without all the unique people in it?
I'd rather be surrounding by all sorts of different people than have everyone fit into the supposed "norm". I think normal is just a term used by society, like "s/he is not normal because they are ...." basically a word used to describe thosw who make you uncomfortable because they are different. It's narrow-minded.

Normal to me refers to things that don't vary very much from most things in their species/class/society/whatever else is applicable.
In terms of people, I feel it refers to 'the masses', those more or less content to believe similar things and live the same way to most others in most ways for both better and worse.
I don't think I'm particularly normal as I've noticed many of the things I vocalise cause conflict and/or discomfort with the majority. I seem to question taboos, advocate change and point out what I feel are injustices too much for my own good. Would I want to be normal? Crap no. Not currently anyway. If normal is ever something I agree with, then I'd have no qualms being normal. Until that point though, I'd hate myself for even considering it too much.

Normal how I see it is used to show a state of being or thing to be appropriate in one's eye. In other words, being normal isn't just how you behave in the society. Normal can be used in health reason, such as "the heart rate is normal" or the "condition is abnormal and there is something wrong", and vice versa (I used medical terms a little haha.) So I don't really know what kind of "normal" you're asking for, and I think it's okay to be different. But you should have normal conditions in certain things. I guess I can consider myself normal because I can accept myself as just good enough. In other words, no one is classified as normal because we're all different. What would make a person abnormal when there is something wrong to a person which would be out of their own control. If that makes any sense. o_o;
Be yourself and don't try too much. lol
"Normalcy" for me means not having to worry about starving to death, having a home and clothing to wear (as well as access to minimum conveniences), and being free from the fear of being detained, tortured or killed arbitrarily by others.
I'm thankful that I've been lucky enough to be able to live a pretty normal life, since I know that a vast number of people in the world are not so fortunate.

"Normal"? Whuzzat? Normal = Natural, ja? As in, Au Naturel...?
France approves.
Studs, Mohawks, leather jackets, tattoos and headbanging. why do you ask?
To me, normality is simple fitting into social norms, what people EXPECT you to do.
Normalcy is relative to personal opinion. In my mind it's perfectly normal to frequently make death threats on those who mildly irritate me, and fence with imaginary opponents while using a wooden spoon (so much more fun than actually cooking...).
However, I am told that I am abnormal according to societies general way of thinking, and I like it that way.
Normal? I don't know anyone normal in my life. Now ABnormal A LOT!
